KS4 Progress 8 Score
Progress 8 tells us how well pupils at this school have progressed between the end of primary school (key stage 2) and the end of secondary school (key stage 4), compared to pupils in other schools with a similar starting point. This is based on results in up to 8 qualifications, which include English, maths, 3 qualifications including sciences, computer science, history, geography and languages, and 3 other additional approved qualifications.
KS4 - Attainment 8 Score
Attainment 8 is a calculation of average point score per pupil, based on how well pupils have performed in up to 8 qualifications, which include English, maths, 3 qualifications including sciences, computer science, history, geography and languages, and 3 other additional approved qualifications.
Basics - English and Mathematics
This is the percentage of students who achieved a strong pass (grade 5+) in both English and Maths GCSE. Also, shown is the percentage of students who achieved a standard pass (grade 4+) in both English and Maths GCSE.
KS4 - English Baccalaureate
The English Baccalaureate is not a test or qualification; it is a measure used to provide information about a particular range of qualifications. A pupil is considered to have ‘achieved’ the English Baccalaureate if they achieved a grade 5 or better in the following subjects: English, maths, sciences, a language and either history or geography.
KS4 - Pupil destinations - pupils staying in education or going into employment
This measures the number of pupils who either stayed in education or went into employment after year 11 (after key stage 4). The data published is for pupils who finished year 11 in the previous years.
Post 16 - English & Maths
These scores show how much progress students at this school or college made in English and maths qualifications such as GCSE re-takes, between the end of key stage 4 and the end of the 16 to 18 phase of education. A positive score means that, on average, students got higher grades at 16 to 18 than at key stage 4. A negative score means that, on average, students got lower grades than at key stage 4. Students are included in these measures if they did not achieve a grade 4 or higher in their GCSE or equivalent by the end of key stage 4 in that subject.
Post 16 - Progress - Level 3 Qualifications
These figures tell you how much progress students who studied Level 3 academic or Level 3 applied qualifications at this school or college made between the end of key stage 4 and the end of their studies, compared to similar students across England.
The scores are calculated by comparing the results of students at this school or college with the results of students in schools and colleges across England who started with similar results at the end of the previous key stage – key stage 4.
A score above zero means students made more progress, on average than students across England who got similar results at the end of key stage 4.
A score below zero means students made less progress, on average than students across England who got similar results at the end of key stage 4.
A negative progress score does not mean students made no progress, or the school or college has failed, rather it means students in this school or college made less progress than other students across England with similar results at the end of key stage 4.
Post 16 - attainment Level 3 qualification
We give a points value to all qualifications so you can compare qualifications of a different level, size and grading system. We base the number of points on the challenge and size of a qualification. These figures tell you the average grade and average points that students achieved in their academic qualifications.
Post 16 - Students Destinations(education or employment after 16 to 18)
Students finishing 16 to 18 study who either stayed in education or went into employment from October to March the following year.
