Pupil Premium
The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to close the gaps between them and their peers’. This funding is designed to support ‘disadvantaged’ students who are eligible for free school meals (at any point in the last 6 years), adopted, in or have been in local authority care and those from families with parents in the Armed Forces.
At Ashton Park School the funding is used to support all disadvantaged students engage with learning, make academic progress and provide additional pastoral care and support. We aim to give all students improved life chances and the best opportunities to succeed.
English and Maths Catch-Up
Year 7 catch-up funding aims to help these students to ‘catch up’ with their peers during their first year at Ashton Park School. The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium gives schools additional funding to support year 7 pupils who did not achieve the expected standard in reading or maths at the end of key stage 2 (KS2).
